Rhinoplasty in Madrid

Rhinoplasty in Madrid: personalised nose surgery to correct its shape, size or functional issues with natural, long-lasting results.

Rhinoplasty is the nose surgery that reshapes its structure to correct aesthetic concerns — nasal hump, drooping or wide tip, asymmetries, prominent dorsum or unbalanced profile — and functional ones such as a deviated septum that hinders breathing. When both objectives coexist, they are addressed in the same procedure.

The price of rhinoplasty in Madrid depends on the technique (open, closed or ultrasonic rhinoplasty), the anatomical complexity of the case and whether or not it includes functional septoplasty. In the first consultation with Dr Barreno de Castro, the case is assessed, the options are explained and a detailed written quote is provided.

How rhinoplasty works

Rhinoplasty is performed in the operating theatre under general anaesthesia. It lasts approximately two to four hours depending on the technique and complexity of the case. The patient returns home the same day or after one night of hospitalisation, depending on the individual protocol.

During the first seven to ten days, an external nasal splint is worn to protect the new structure and reduce swelling. Bruising and oedema improve progressively during the first two weeks; after that, returning to social activities is common.

The final result of rhinoplasty appears between six and twelve months, when the internal oedema has fully subsided and the tissues have adapted to the new structure. Follow-up consultations allow monitoring the evolution and resolving doubts at each stage.

FAQ about rhinoplasty

How much does rhinoplasty cost in Madrid?

The price of rhinoplasty depends on the case. In the first consultation the nasal anatomy is assessed, the most appropriate technique is decided (open, closed or ultrasonic) and a written, personalised quote is provided.

How long is the recovery from rhinoplasty?

The splint is removed at 7-10 days. Returning to social activities happens around two weeks. The final result is visible between 6 and 12 months, when the internal swelling has subsided.

Is rhinoplasty painful?

Rhinoplasty is performed under general anaesthesia, so nothing is felt during. The post-operative period is managed with oral analgesia; most patients describe discomfort and congestion, not pain.

Does rhinoplasty leave visible scars?

In closed rhinoplasty, incisions are internal and there are no visible scars. In open rhinoplasty, a small horizontal scar remains on the columella (the bridge of skin between the nostrils) that becomes virtually imperceptible over time.

Can rhinoplasty be combined with other procedures?

Yes, rhinoplasty is often combined with mentoplasty, blepharoplasty or cheek augmentation to harmonise the facial profile in a single surgery and a single recovery.
